KBC picks up five-year PR and marketing account for Utah tourist office

The East Sussex agency, which now represents 13 US states as well as Washington DC and the Florida Keys & Key West, won the account following a competitive tender by the Office of Tourism that began in April.

KBC’s work on the five-year account has now commenced. The state previously worked with Core Communications.5

The PR and social media element of the account will be overseen by account director Jo Thomas, and managed on a day-to-day basis by senior account executive Beth Higham, while the trade element will be managed by account manager Jenni Bridgman and KBC’s director of sales and representation Lisa Cooper.

Becky Johnson, global specialist at the tourist office, said: “We were not only impressed with KBC’s comprehensive and creative plan to increase visitation to Utah but also its extensive knowledge of the UK travel industry. Its enthusiasm and professionalism shone through when it presented to the panel and we are really excited to start working with it.”

KBC was one of five agencies shortlisted for the UK account for the Jamaica Tourist Board earlier in the summer, but was not successful.
