Titanic Hotel launches Liverpool’s first water taxi

Titanic Hotel Liverpool has launched a water taxi service, allowing guests to travel in style to and from the city centre. The service, in association with Liverpool Boat Charter, is the first of its kind in Liverpool.

The water taxi can collect guests from the hotel and offer a single or return journey to Mann Island, taking guests on a historical tour around Liverpool’s maritime heritage.

1The boat passes historical sights such as Stanley Dock’s Rum Warehouse and Tobacco Warehouse – the world’s largest brick warehouse – the service will also include scenic views of the six clock faced Victoria Tower at Salisbury Dock, regenerated Princes Dock and the cities epic Liver Building before finishing at Mann Island.

The 40-minute service is run by two qualified skippers operating daily departure times for guests. As well as it being a water taxi service, guests can also enjoy the option of a personal cruise complete with a bottle of Prosecco and a selection of nibbles that can be pre-ordered from the hotel.

Liverpool Boat Charter is also planning to increase the operating fleet with a 38 passenger boat, Skylark, to offer the service to larger groups and corporate clients of the hotel.

Ian Gray, General Manager at Titanic Hotel Liverpool, says: “This service will not only enhance our offering to guests, it’s also the only one of its kind linking Stanley Dock to Mann Island and the city centre beyond. We’ve already seen a strong interest in bookings and hope to increase the offering soon with the addition of the second vessel.”

The water taxi route will cease operation between January to mid-March 2016. Peter Kenny, Liverpool Boat Charter, added: “It’s been great to link up with Titanic Hotel Liverpool and offer this service to its guests. With the famous Mersey and so many historical building on its doorstep it would be a real shame not to make the most of it by offering this unique transport experience.”
