Nevada Hotel and Lodging Association hosts the 5th Annual Stars of the Industry Hospitality Awards Gala

The Nevada Hotel and Lodging Association (NHLA) is honoring exemplary hospitality employees working within Nevada’s hotel industry at the 5th Annual Stars of the Industry Hospitality Awards Gala on Wednesday, October 14 from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. at the Vdara Hotel and Spa.

The prestigious event provides the opportunity for employees throughout the state to be recognized for the superior service they render for the hospitality industry. Nominations are submitted by NHLA members for a wide variety of categories. Award recipients are announced at the lavish event.5

Hotelier of the Year is highest honor awarded

The highest award, Hotelier of the Year, honors a Nevada Hotel and Lodging Association member with outstanding contributions to the state, the industry and NHLA. Candidates from a variety of positions are considered including a Nevada hotel executive, general manager, multi-unit manager, corporate executive or owner.

Nominees are judged by the voting committee on their professionalism and service to the property, their employees, guests and the community. The Hotelier of the Year is recognized by industry peers for his or her exemplary achievements, contributions and leadership.

Broad array of award categories

Other Employee of the Year awards include general manager, management professional, emerging leader, sustainability leader, supplier, housekeeping, facilities, guest services, accounting, human resources, food and beverage, casino, administrator, sales, revenue management and safety and security.

Entertainment…Nevada style

The Stars of the Industry Awards Gala has become the most recognized and celebrated industry awards event in Nevada. The reception will feature performers from the Zarkana Show at Aria presenting fun and photo opportunities for the attendees.

The evening celebration will open with a performance by the popular Jabbawockeez. ​”We are pleased to participate in the Stars of the Industry supporting the outstanding professionals in Nevada,” states Jabbawockeez sales manager, Susan Thomason.

Following the high energy performance, Greg Gooding, General Manager of the Westin Lake Las Vegas and last year’s recipient of the General Manager of the Year award, will emcee the evening’s activities.

Special guest presenters include Claudia Vecchio, Director of Nevada Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs and Finley Cotrone, UNLV Faculty.

Nominations for awards are encouraged from NHLA members and can be submitted via the www.nvhotels.com website. Nominations will be accepted through September 23, 2015.
