In the US, Pizza Hut has developed a new “epic pizza creation” that brings together breadsticks and pizza crusts.

From this week, the fast food retailer will offer The Twisted Crust – a large, hand-tossed pizza featuring a tearable, dippable breadstick crust served with a choice of two dipping sauces and one topping. Aside from a traditional marinara sauce as standard, consumers will have a choice between buffalo ranch and cheddar cheese sauces.

Available for dine-in, carry-out or home delivery, the new meal will be available in locations across the US and will set consumers back $11.99.

Jared Drinkwater, vice president of marketing for Pizza Hut, said: “We are not afraid to experiment with new and innovative flavour combinations for our food, but sometimes it’s the most obvious innovations that amaze us the most – and Twisted Crust is an example of an innovation that has done just that. We know America loves our pizza, but we have [an] enormous, loyal group of Pizza Hut breadstick lovers out there, too. We believe our new Twisted Crust pizza is the ultimate flavour combination of these two popular items that consumers will absolutely love.”
