Ex-CLIA CEO named president of US Tour Operators Association

Former CLIA CEO Terry L. Dale has been named the new president of the U.S. Tour Operators Association. He will replace late Bob Whitley, who was the president of the USTOA for 32 years, until his death in May, 2010.

USTOA’s chairman John Stachnik said: “He is the ideal person to move the association’s strategic plan forward and to help implement our goals, as well as position USTOA for the future. Terry’s extensive background and in-depth knowledge of the travel industry makes him the perfect fit for us.”

“I’m honored and enthusiastic about joining USTOA and becoming a part of the association’s future,” Dale said. “This is a wonderful opportunity to take a fresh look at the association’s role, and how it can continue to maintain its vibrancy, relevancy and serve as an advocate for travel now and into the future.”

Dale’s appointment takes effect this month.
